Mr. Shishibo of Singapore Science, Technology and Research Agency was invited to give an academic report

Release time:March 26,2024

On March 23, 2024, at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Materials Chemical Engineering, Mr. Xi Shibo, a researcher at the Institute of Chemistry, Energy and Environmental Sustainability of the Singapore Agency for Science, Technology and Research, gave an academic report entitled "Revealing the local structure of M@PCN" in the academic lecture Hall on the third floor of Hongyi Building. The report was chaired by Professor Zhou Yu, and teachers and students from related research fields attended the academic report.

His main research interests are in situ X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) catalysis, XAFS data processing and analysis, synchrotron radiation light source design, calibration and optimization, single-atom catalyst design and electrocatalytic applications. In this report, Mr. Xi first introduced the principle of X-ray absorption spectroscopy, taking Cr (Ⅲ) and Cr (Ⅵ) as examples, from which the absorption spectrum information can be obtained. Then, the arrangement of different metals in polycarbon nitride was introduced in detail by means of neutron diffraction, XRD, theoretical simulation, etc., and the metal bonding process was demonstrated in the form of 3D animation. Finally, the report content was summarized. Mr. Xi's vivid report and his unique and methodical opinions greatly inspired the teachers and students present, and let everyone understand the advanced characterization methods and means in the process of scientific research. The participants benefited a lot and received warm responses, and the academic report was a complete success.

Personal Profile:

Shi Bo, Research Fellow, Institute of Chemistry, Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore Synchrotron radiation source absorption line station scientist, senior expert in the field of synchrotron radiation absorption spectrum. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Sichuan University in 2006 and his Doctor of Science degree from Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2012. He has been specializing in absorption spectroscopy research for more than ten years. During the graduate and work period, I designed and made in-situ X-ray absorption spectrum experimental equipment suitable for the study of various catalytic reaction mechanisms, built an internationally leading in-situ catalytic absorption spectrum characterization experimental station, and had rich experience in soft X-ray and hard X-ray absorption spectrum methodology, absorption spectrum data processing and analysis, and absorption spectrum theoretical calculation. Participated in the National Natural Science Foundation project and presided over an open project of the State Key Laboratory of Materials Chemical Engineering, Nanjing University of Technology. So far, he has published more than 100 articles in top international journals such as Science, Nature and its sub-journals, JACS, Angew, and so on, including 2 Nature journal papers in 2023. The total number of citations is over 10,000.
